Jackson County High School Scores Big for Mental Health at District Basketball Game!
Jackson County High School recently demonstrated its commitment to student well-being by partnering with the Rae of Sunshine Foundation for our much-anticipated district basketball game against North Laurel. The event was not just about fierce competition on the court, but also about shining a bright light on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Our students, staff, and community rallied together, showing incredible support by purchasing exclusive “Rae of Sunshine” t-shirts. These vibrant shirts, featuring the foundation’s uplifting sun logo, were proudly worn by many in the stands, turning our gym into a powerful display of unity and compassion. The initiative aimed to start important conversations, reduce stigma, and remind everyone that it’s okay not to be okay, and that help is always available.
“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the Rae of Sunshine Foundation.” “Our ball game provided a fantastic platform to emphasize that mental health is just as important as physical health. Seeing so many of our students and families embrace this message truly highlights the supportive spirit of Jackson County High School.”
The funds raised from the t-shirt sales will directly benefit the Rae of Sunshine Foundation, enabling them to continue their vital work in providing resources, support, and hope to young people. This collaboration is a testament to Jackson County High School’s dedication to fostering a nurturing and understanding environment for all.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a shirt, spread the word, and helped make this event a resounding success both on and off the court! Let’s continue to support one another and keep the conversation about mental health going.
