Kentucky Youth Association

As a Language Arts teacher, It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to accompany my students and witness them presenting and learning about how our government works. These students collaborate to come up with the bills that they present. They work with me bouncing ideas and learning about the issues that they are presenting, hoping to get passed into law.

Going to KYA is a blessing not only to me but also to my students. I have witnessed students who are reluctant to speak in front of people find their voice when they are passionate about an issue. I see them grow not only as students but as young adults. Some of them staying away from home and their parents for the first time.

I am thankful that KEDC Grants have gave me the knowledge to be able to teach these students, not only helping them with the learning of how the government works but also the skills needed to be confident about speaking in public.
